Nara Smith's Wellness From Scratch Smoothie (Erewhon Copycat)

Nara Smith is famous for making everything from scratch on TikTok while wearing couture in a kitchen that costs more than most people's houses, so her Erewhon smoothie being called "Wellness From Scratch" is almost too on-brand to be real. The smoothie itself is a bright golden-orange tropical blend of mango, pineapple, banana, orange juice, and kefir, with turmeric for color and camu camu for vitamin C. There's fresh mint in it, which sounds weird in a tropical smoothie but actually works to add a clean, crisp finish to the sweetness. The kefir is the move that separates this from a basic tropical smoothie. It adds a tangy, probiotic-rich depth that makes the whole thing taste more complex than "fruit in a blender." This is the exact Erewhon recipe. Same golden-orange blend, same kefir base, same mint finish. The only thing from scratch is your willingness to blend five ingredients and call it wellness. Which, honestly, fair enough.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup plain grass-fed kefir (Lifeway or similar)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 scoop vanilla collagen powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon camu camu powder (optional)
  • 3-4 fresh mint leaves
  • FOR THE TOP:
  • Coconut whipped cream
  • Drizzle of honey
  • Fresh mint sprig

Instructions

  1. 1

    Blend everything

Add the almond milk, kefir, orange juice, frozen mango, frozen pineapple, frozen banana, honey, lemon juice, collagen, turmeric, camu camu, and mint leaves to your blender. Blend on high for 45 seconds until smooth and golden-orange. The turmeric deepens the gold without adding much taste at this amount. The mint will be fully incorporated, adding a subtle freshness throughout.

  2. 2

    Pour and top

Smear a little coconut cream on the inside of your cup if you want the Erewhon aesthetic. Pour the smoothie in. Top with coconut whipped cream, a drizzle of honey, and a sprig of fresh mint.

  3. 3

    Serve

Drink it and think about how Nara Smith probably filmed herself making this while wearing Valentino and whispering the ingredient list into a camera. Then think about how you're drinking the exact same thing in your kitchen wearing whatever you're wearing, and it tastes exactly the same. That's the beauty of recipes. They don't care what you're wearing.

Baker's Notes

  • The kefir is what makes this special. It's a fermented dairy drink full of probiotics that adds a tangy, yogurt-like quality. If you can't find grass-fed kefir, regular kefir or even plain yogurt thinned with a splash of water works.
  • Camu camu is a South American berry with extremely high vitamin C content. It comes as a powder and adds a tart, slightly fruity note. Skip it if you don't have it. The lemon juice covers similar ground.
  • Fresh mint is not optional. It transforms this from a basic tropical smoothie into something that feels intentional and layered. 3-4 leaves is plenty.
  • The original uses Copina Co. Citrus Blossom Sea Moss Refresher drink as one of the liquids. It's a sea moss drink that adds minerals and a citrus flavor. Sub it in for the almond milk if you can find it.

FAQ

Why kefir in a smoothie?
Probiotics and tang. Kefir adds billions of live cultures for gut health and a tart, almost sour cream-like quality that balances all the fruit sweetness. It's the difference between "sweet fruit smoothie" and "complex tropical beverage." The tang is the whole upgrade.
Can I skip the turmeric?
Yes. It's adding color more than flavor at this amount. The smoothie will be slightly less golden but will taste nearly identical. Your clothes and blender will also thank you since turmeric stains everything it touches permanently.
