Olivia Rodrigo's Good 4 Ur Guts Smoothie (Erewhon Copycat)

Olivia Rodrigo dropped a smoothie the same color as her Guts album art and honestly the brand synergy is immaculate. This is a deep, moody purple blend of pomegranate kombucha, blueberries, acai, mango, strawberries, and a chocolate maca protein powder that somehow works with all of it. It's thick, it's tart, it's berry-forward, and it's packed with probiotics and gut-friendly ingredients which is the whole point of the name if that wasn't obvious. The assembly on this one is way simpler than the Hailey Bieber. No glaze, no wall streaks, no 12-minute saucepan situations. You blend everything, pour it in a cup, swirl some coconut cream on top, and you're done. It's the emo kid of Erewhon smoothies. Low maintenance on the outside, deeply complex on the inside. This is the exact recipe rebuilt for your kitchen. Same deep purple, same tart berry flavor, same gut-health type shit. Just without the $20 price tag and the guy next to you in line aggressively FaceTiming his breathwork coach.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pomegranate kombucha (Health-Ade or GT's)
  • 1/2 cup oat milk
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 packet frozen acai puree (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 scoop chocolate maca protein powder (Sprout Living or similar)
  • FOR THE TOP:
  • 2 tablespoons coconut cream (whipped or thick from the can)

Instructions

  1. 1

    Blend it all

Add the pomegranate kombucha, oat milk, frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, frozen mango, acai packet, avocado, honey, dates, and chocolate maca protein to your blender. Blend on high for about 60 seconds until completely smooth. The color should be a deep, rich purple. If it's too thick, add a splash more kombucha. If it's too thin, add more frozen blueberries.

  2. 2

    Pour and top

Pour the smoothie into your cup. Spoon a generous swirl of coconut cream on top. Let it sit on the surface and create a contrast against the purple. You can drag a toothpick through it for a little swirl pattern if you want, but it's not required. This smoothie sells itself on color and flavor, not complex layering.

  3. 3

    Serve immediately

Drink it while it's cold and thick. The kombucha gives it a slight effervescence that fades fast, so the first few sips have this subtle fizz that the last few don't. It's a feature, not a bug.

Baker's Notes

  • The pomegranate kombucha is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. It brings tartness, probiotics, and a slight fizz that regular juice can't replicate. Don't sub regular pomegranate juice unless you want a completely different drink.
  • The acai packet is the frozen unsweetened kind from the smoothie section, not the powdered stuff. Sambazon is the most common brand. It gives the smoothie that deep purple base color.
  • The chocolate maca protein sounds weird in a berry smoothie but it works fr. It adds this earthy, almost brownie-batter depth underneath all the fruit. Trust it.
  • If you can't find chocolate maca protein specifically, use any chocolate plant protein powder and add 1/2 teaspoon of maca powder separately.

FAQ

Why pomegranate kombucha instead of regular juice?
Probiotics and tartness. The kombucha adds gut-friendly bacteria (which is the whole theme of this smoothie) and a sharp, tangy edge that regular pomegranate juice doesn't have. Plus there's a subtle carbonation in the first few sips that makes it feel alive.
Can I skip the acai?
You can but the color will shift from deep purple to more of a reddish-pink and you'll lose that thick, sorbet-like body that the acai brings. The acai is carrying the aesthetic here.
Does this actually help your gut?
The kombucha has live probiotics, the dates and blueberries bring fiber, and the honey has prebiotic properties. Is it a medical intervention? No. Is it better for your gut than the drive-through breakfast you were considering? Significantly.
